How to trim thick asparagus?
Thick asparagus ends are easier to cut off when you bend the stalk slightly. To do this, grasp the end of the asparagus with a pair of tongs or tongs with a flat end. Next, twist the asparagus so it forms a 90-degree angle. At the same time, push the tongs down toward the end of the stalk so that the end gets thinner. Now, the end is easier to cut off.
How to trim asparagus thinly?
Trimming off the ends of the stalks is the easiest part of asparagus prep. If you want to layer the spears in a dish or just eat them on their own, the thinner they are, the better. To achieve this, cut the spears at a 45-degree angle, as shown in the image below. This ensures that the resulting pieces are about an inch thick. If the ends are too thick or uneven, they can be cut off completely rather than slicing them.
