What does book mean to you?
books are a means of passing the knowledge of one generation to the next. We can discover the most factual information about the world that we live in today by reading books written in the past. But books also have the power to transport us to other worlds, to take us to places we’ve never been or to make us feel like we’re there.

A book can be the physical product, the printed pages, but it can also be the experience of reading a book. A good book can transport you to another world, hold your interest, make you laugh or cry. It can take you back to your childhood or ignite your passion for learning. A book can be an inspiration for you to create or do something amazing, or motivate you to make a positive change in your life.

The books that have had the biggest impact on me personally have contributed to the way I see the world and myself. Growing up, I remember reading books by black women that taught me about black history and the power of the mind. Later, in college, I was drawn to books that spoke to me about mental health, and how to find my voice in the world.
