Why don't you do right?
If you are reading this book, you probably care about people and want to be a good person. But sometimes we just don’t do right. We fall short of being the people we want to be or even the people we think we are. There are many reasons why people do not do right. Listed below are a few of them and a few strategies for overcoming them.
Why don't you do better?
If you don't want to do better, that's fine. But it doesn't change the reality of the situation. You can't be lazy be rude, be self-centered, be impulsive, or be a narcissist. There are a lot of people who have to work harder to do things right. But you don't get to decide how hard others have to work or whether they deserve to be held accountable for their behavior.
Why don't you do the best you can?
The most important thing in life is to do the best you can. If you don't do that, then what is the entire point of living? It would be much better to have done your best and failed than to have never tried at all.
Why don't you do better in school?
Maybe you are not trying enough because you are lazy. Maybe you are not trying enough because you are stuck in a bad habit. Maybe you are not trying enough because you are afraid of failing. Whatever it is, you must realize that you are responsible for figuring out what you need to do to get better grades. If you don’t want to fail, you have to take responsibility for the fact that you will.
Why don't you do your best?
There are some people who just aren't very good at doing things right. They don't seem to care about what others think. They don't seem to care about how their actions affect other people, or how they might hurt someone. There are people who are lazy and don't care about getting the job done right.
