hennepin is an older style of menu. It was created by the U.S. hotel industry in the 1970s. When the first Hennepin-style menus were created, the trend was to create a feeling of cosiness and hominess to the restaurants. Hennepin’s menu was designed to be easier to read and use for customers who would not be familiar with the endless variety of choices that were available in the world.
Why no Hennepin menu?
One of the things we hear most often about the hennepin menu is that it is too confusing. While it may be true that some people struggle with the menu, it definitely doesn’t stop them from trying a delicious meal at a restaurant. Hennepin’s menu is designed to help you make educated decisions about what you want to order. If you are not used to ordering off of a menu, you may find the Hennepin menu to be challenging.

Their menu includes items such as nachos, chicken tenders, burgers, fries, as well as healthier options like quinoa bowls, grilled tofu and cauliflower rice. They have a rotating item that changes every few weeks, so you can try something new every time you visit.

If you live in Hennepin County, you’re not the only one wondering why the commission chose this menu. Other residents and representatives of the county voiced criticism against the menu at meetings. They felt like the commission didn’t take into account the many different needs of the county in terms of food access and diversity.
